Megiddo is a violent and terrifying place. Every day soldiers are sent out to do battle against strange and otherworldly forces, and every day scores of men and women on both sides die. It's hellish and chaotic and no one in their right mind would willingly join the fight.
That's why they bring in Outsiders. People from other worlds. Their machines pluck them out of their home dimensions, fit them with collars, and then send them out, armed with whatever weapons suit them best. The collars keep them in line, keep them from hurting the people in charge, let them be brought back to life if they get killed. It's a rough life.
You have my sympathies, Outsider.
Arriving
When someone first arrives, they wake up in a plain, sterile room that resembles a modern doctor's office. A thin, metal collar has been fitted around their throat, and any powers they have are suppressed. There's silence for several moments, and then an automated recording of a woman's voice beings playing.
Welcome to the Megiddo Military Facility.
You have been drawn from your home dimension to aid us in a battle against creatures from another plane of existence. The collar on your neck stabilizes your presence in this dimension. Do not attempt to forcefully remove it.
When you are ready to enter the facility proper, please retrieve you items from the table near the door and use the communication device we have provided you with to introduce yourself to the others in the facility. The door will be unlocked once you have done so.
If you have any questions, a placard on the wall across from the room you're in will direct you to the counselor's office. To replay this message, please say 'repeat'.

As promised, sitting next to the door is a table holding any items the new arrival may have had with them before they were drawn through dimensions -- clothes, weapons, money, etc -- in addition to a small communication device, instructions on its use taped to it.
And of course, the door is locked.

Mirrored from my LJ!
So, news of the new Slayers season, plus a rewatch of Slayers TRY, has rekindled in me my urge to roleplay Zelgadis (or possibly Xellos, but mostly Zelgadis). And though I don't think I have it in me to take another MUX character at this point (I'm pretty devoted to FFMUX as-is, and I have plans to pick up Zack on Gates), I think a sandbox or low-pressure LJ game (or a sandbox on LJ!) would be ideal.
But! I'd want castmates. c.c So, basically: is anyone interested in playing? z_za
